It may sound funny to us, but Hayat, a possibly 12-year-old girl, does desperately want to go to school. In a country, where girls are supposed to get married early to take care of children, home, animals and in particular, their husband. On the very day that will bring decision about Hayat's future, her mother has to take her father away.
Oc course Hayat loves her two little siblings, and she also knows that cows and chicken can't stay without food. But if she does not hurry up, she will be late for her test. Therefore she tries everything to find a baysitter for her youngest sister. She hurries from one ancestor to the other. And we hurry with her. But it seems like they all have made up against her. Nobody helps Hayat, because girls shall not go to school.
Will Hayat finally be in time for her test? That is the thrilling question that accompanies us through the movie. With simple , for example the breathless coughing of the girl, which moves us through the movie, a tension is created, which literally moves you out of your seat. The impressing and very warmhearted acting of the main actress, Ghasaleh Paksafar, gives us the feeling to be in the girl's shoes. A very curageous movie by a director from Iran, which is really worthwhile watching.
