Of course six-year-old Vanja is happy to be with his new parents from Italy soon.
Now he will be able to get away from the dull life in the children's home, the mostly drunk director and the brutal grownups there. But more important for him is to find his real mother. But this is not so easy, because the director has sold him to his adoptive parents for 5.000,- Euro. And that woman, who deals with orphans like Vanja accepts no resistance.
With great courage an little help, Vanja finally escapes. Now he is all alone on the street, followed by the greedy child-trader and her companion, only with the address of his first orphans' home in his pocket.
The movie shows quite pitilessly, what life is like in the children's homes and on the streets of Russia. Despite, it is a touching movie a child's urge for love and security. I became aware, how most children in Germany are allowed to grow up sheltered and carelessly. Though this movie tells the story of a six-year-old, the recommendation for an audience older than eleven should really be followed.
I hope very much, that this movie will come to German cinemas. It is really worth to watch it.
